Georgia O'Keeffe and Andy Warhol are the two most famous American artists of the 20th Century. Unlike Warhol, whose art was based on celebrity, O'Keeffe's celebrity was based on her art. She broke barriers in a male-dominated world and gained international acclaim during a career that spanned seven decades. We follow Georgia from her early solo exhibitions at gallery "291", her emergence as America's premier Modernist painter (with the unveiling of her large format flowers), to her years spent in the solitude of the New Mexican desert.

Georgia O'Keeffe tells the story of the artist's life and career (featuring over 100 works), and is the first documentary to intimately detail the passionate love affair, artistic collaboration and marriage between Georgia O'Keeffe and the father of modern photography, Alfred Steiglitz. Narrated by Academy Award-winning actress Jodie Foster and correspondence read by Diane Lane and Liev Schreiber, Georgia O'Keeffe is a love story, between a woman and what inspires her.
